SSE owns about 10,700 MW of electricity generation capacity in the United Kingdom and Ireland, consisting of approximately: 4.500 megawatts of power gas and oil-fired, 4,000 megawatt coal-fired capacity. British energy company Airtricity Holdings Ltd bought the Irish wind generating companies. As reported by the company management SSE, this contract was valued at 1.08 billion euros.
